What Riders Say ... Rodeo Horses

Coleman Proctor

"CSI pads are the only pads I'll use on all my horses, but especially my 'go-to' horse Booger. They keep him sound so he can keep me in the money. Whether it's winning Champion Header at the 2010 George Strait or setting the record time at the 2008 BFI — 4.46 seconds — CSI pads make the difference!" — Coleman Proctor, PRCA Roper and BFI Record Setter

Sydni Blanchard

"I use CSI Pads on my horse Shotgun — together we qualified for the 2010 NFR." — Sydni Blanchard 2010 NFR Qualifier

Jeanne Anderson

"Thank you CSI for keeping Firebug running fast at the 2010 NFR in Las Vegas. " — Jeanne Anderson, 2010 NFR Qualifier

I just want to comment on how AMAZING these pads are! I have a 16.3 hand bay quarter horse, weighting about 1500 pounds. I use him for everything, Break Away Roping, Barrels, Team Roping, Pole Bending, Goat Tying; He is my baby and my pride & joy. I started running him in a competitor brands 'barrel pad' that was supposed to be amazing; it made him so soar he could barely walk around. I was furious, after about 2 months of weekly chiropractic visits; a friend of mine recommended the CSI pad. I tried it, and My Bay ran like a Champ. I bought one about 3 years ago, and he hasn't had a single back problem since! I just bought and older barrel horse, with high withers, & a real sway back. My CSI pad, works wonders on him as well! It's the only pad that will stay, and support his back. He's 20 and with his CSI pad, he still runs with at the top of the competition. I recommend CSI pads to all my students and at clinic. It is the only pad I ride on rodeo horses. To have your best performance, use the best equipment, and that’s what I do.

After borrowing a CSI pad from a friend to try on my hard to fit horse I was sold on the product- it saved me from having to replace my saddle! I was sold on the product and decided to become a dealer for CSI pads. — Randa Nugent, Alberta, Canada

Mackenzie and Wings

Thank you CSI Saddle Pads!! You have save me thousands on vet bills, injections, chiropractic expenses and saved me from losing time riding my horses due to soreness. I was running barrels off my husband's heading horse, he would stay sore constantly. We spent money on him monthly with a chiropractor, I myself a equine massage therapist, worked on him weekly. We had a saddle fitted for him and still he would be good for awhile and then sore again within a month and we would start the process over.
I met Donna Helms in September 2006, we were both involved with producing a local youth rodeo. Our friendship developed and I became educated on CSI Saddle Pads. I began using one instantly and instantly my gelding became better. When he was sore he would not work on his hind quarters, he would not set a steer, with his CSI saddle pad he began working like he never had before and my maintenance expenses on him ended. I did go on to win Reserve All Around Cowgirl on him. I also became a dealer for CSI Saddle Pads, I have never been a dealer for any product. I could never sell a product to make extra money, I'm not a sales person. I LOVE CSI Saddle Pads so it is easy to show them to people, they sell themselves because they are a great product and I do believe in them, no other product horse related or not gives you a 30 trial period, the reason why CSI does that is because they have nothing to hide and they know their product will be exactly as advertised and your horse will love it. In the photo is a picture of my daughter, McKenzie and her 18 year old barrel horse Wonder Wings, an own son of Freedom Flyer. Wings is long in the body, high withered, long muscled, and hard to keep weight on. CSI Saddle pads have kept him happy, healthy and winning since we got him in 2008. We LOVE Wings and Wings loves his CSI Saddle Pad. Thank you Donna Helms and CSI Saddle Pads for taking care of my horses!

I first bought my CSI pad 7 years ago. In the last 7 years my rope horses have had no sore backs. I have only replaced the insert, but still have the same pads. You think the initial cost is high until you ask yourself, how many pads have I bought in the last seven years...none. It is well worth the investment. Thanks for a good pad! — Don Silver...MGR Equine Science Co.

I met Donna at the PA Horse Expo at Harrisburg, PA this winter. After taking part of the demonstration on the CSI Pads I couldn't keep from talking about them. I was totally sold on them. My husband got so sick of hearing me talking about it on the way home from the Expo he told me he would buy me one. I ride Barrel Horses and my one horse tends to get a sore back, can be a hand full in the alley, and hates pain. I had a pad that I just wasn't satisfied with and I felt he didn't like it. It was thick and stiff but was to be one of the top ones on the market. I just couldn't wait to try my CSI. I spoke to Jennifer before ordering and she said that she ran Barrel horses and couldn't believe the change in them from using the CSI Pad and told me that she felt I would see a difference. A difference I sure did see!!! My horse has been walking into the alley, seems to be comfortable, his back doesn't seem sore, and he is running a half second faster then he was. I can say that I'm totally sold and won't be using any other pads but CSI. I'm also proud to say that I have become a dealer on the East Coast and will be happy to let you try my pad out if you see me at a show. You'll not regret it! Thanks CSI for making my horse happy!
—Michele Dibert PA IBRA State Director

I used to have problems with my horses back getting sore. Until I switched to the CSI pad and I have had no more problems with soreness. I first discovered the CSI pad at the Nation High School Rodeo Finals in 2007. Now that is the only pad that I ride on my horses. Whether you choose the neoprene or the wool insert you cannot go wrong. I would recommended this pad to anyone. —Jess Rogers, New Mexico

Just a note to say I just bought my second CSI pad. I barrel race several different horses and was using the one pad on every horse, so I was doing a lot of saddling and unsaddling just so I could use the CSI. My older horse has the drop off behind his shoulders and I had tried every saddle I could find and would end up selling or returning them. Finally the CSI pad (w/shims) resolved the problem and I am certain he is comfortable with this pad and I did not have to invest in a special saddle. His back is not sore and his shoulder freedom is remarkable. Only pad I use for him and my others now that I have a second one. The fit is great for all of them. - Tammy Daniels, WPRA, IPRA & SRA Member

Here is a picture of my 13 year old Appaloosa mare Kiss. I have been running her for almost 6 years. With running barrels and poles I love using my CSI Saddle pad. It has been a year since I purchased my CSI Sadle pad. I love it alot! Greatest piece of equpiment I ever put my money into! I have seen and felt a great deal in my mare as we run! Its great to feel that she wants to run harder becuase she is no longer in pain! It works wonders!! Works great with my mare and my 34 year old sway back gelding I use it on! Its amazing!!! I love CSI Saddle pads!! — Jessica Leigh, from Facebook

i love my csi pad that I bought at MN horse expo! Thanks Donna, it's working out great for me :]— Ana, from Facebook

Comment: For years we have got along real fine with a 100% wool double navajo and felt pad under our saddles,...no sore backs. This summer, my brown heeling horse rubbed a sore on his very high withers. We doctored & doctored it, it was very slow to heel. My wife said to try one of her CSI pads on him as they have been working well for her and our son Billy Lane. So I put it on him. I was able to continue riding him and he finished healing up quickly while doing so. I liked it even better when I found out it was American Made! I am still riding it, so I guess my wife has lost her CSI pad. — Bill Barcus, Kansas

I found your website back in March('09)in the pursuit of a solution to my saddle fit issues. With just a few emails to and from your sales rep.I had a CSI pad ordered. I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you with my feedback!
WOW! What a product! Within the first 2 or 3 rides my horse's performance went to a whole new level! Her shoulders were free her stride lengthened, I had a wonderful solid sweat pattern(which I had never had with this horse no matter what saddle or ordinary pad I used) But best of all...We quit hitting barrels!!YAHOO! My mare shows little to no muscle sorness after hard riding also. To say the least, I am 110% satisfied with your product. I also recomend it to anyone who is looking to increase their horses comfort, thus increasing their horses performance in most likely ANY discipline. Thanks for everything! HEATHER&SPOOKY!! —Heather McElwain, Florida

Thanks so much for doing such a great job on my saddle pad. I love the design with the cross and wings and camo too. Ican't wait to put it on my horse :) — Gabriella, from Facebook

Now the CSI pad I brought is the only thing we fight over - I brought it for my barrel horse but my husband keeps stealing it for his calf horse - I can see we will have to invest in more. We are using the CSI Pad on our horses in the NFR in Australia....!!! — Yvonne from Facebook

Love, Love, Love these saddlepads, my daughter only rides the CSI pads- she ropes, barrel races, goat ties and pole bending, in the arena and in the pasture, she only ride's CSI. — Suzie from Facebook

Thank you CSI-I do Little Britches Rodeo and my mom bought my goat tying and roping horse a CSI pad-She was concerned about the cost-but it has been a great investment. My horse, Toad, used to have to be adjusted alot, and when he was adjusted there was alot wrong with his mid section. Thanks to the CSI pad now he gets just one adjustment a year and his ribs and mid section are not usually out! And our times are getting faster! Now I am going to start saving up for a pad for my barrel horse! Thank you CSI! — Bailey Carl

I think I have tried just about every saddle pad on the market and I can honestly say nothing even compares to the CSI pad. I usually never try something new at a race that I have never used or ran in before. I was in columbia at a Barrel Bash and a friend wanted me to just try it and see what I thought, once I put it on there was no taking it off. Before I even got on I loved the way it sat my saddle and looked from the ground, then when I got on I could immedieatly feel a big differece. When my horse went to move she felt so free and comfortable in her front end which is what I had been looking for with other pads. I ended up winning the race and have never rode in another pad since, I can't! -Caitlin Benjamin

My times have gotten faster, my horses’ backs stay in better, and I ride with even more confidence knowing that my saddle pad is protecting my horses’ bodies. Since I started using the CSI Saddle Pad my two competition horses, Montana Excaliber and Montana Afton, have literally stopped getting sore after competition runs and long weekends.  I can exercise them and compete on them with the confidence of knowing I'm not causing problems.  My older horse was continuously getting sore across his back, I didn’t know what to do, until I met Donna of CSI.  It has literally made the difference of locally running in the 2D, and NOW he’s back winning money in the 1D! With its light weight, I've also noticed that my times on both horses have been faster and more consistent using the CSI pad. I love it!  I wouldn’t believe a product such as this can make THAT big of a DIFFERENCE if I hadn’t tried it! I’m a CSI Saddle Pad fan for life!  Thank you CSI for such a great product!  — Desiree Treeby

I puchased my first flex-plate pad last summer for my top barrel horse. I wasn't having any sorness issues, but I had a friend that gave me a really convincing testimonial about the difference it made for her barrel horse. Immediately after I ran with my new pad I noticed a tremendous difference in shoulder freedom , I was impressed. My horse finished out the season with the best turns she had ever made. This spring I started a race horse filly on the pattern with a really small felt pad so it wasn't as overwhelming to her back. After just 2 runs I thought I would try my CSI pad on her, the horse was as smooth as silk. I went around swearing that the pad made the differnce and people thought I was crazy. So I put the 5 Starr pad back on her and made another run, and she just wasn't the same. Then to conclude my experiment I put the CSI pad back on and just like magic it was an amazing transformation. These are great producst and I have huge faith in them. — Charlotte Soltvedt

I found this wonder pad at the Western Stock Show. I have many different types of horses that I need to fit while I am riding and training. The first thing I noticed with this pad is that my back didn't hurt after being in the saddle all day. That speaks volumes. My horses love them too. We have some with withers and some without. Even my ponies saddles fit and stay put. Our barrel racers are digging into the dirt better and everyone is sound. This pad is a fantastic pad and a valuable asset to the industry. We started letting landscapers and gardeners use them to kneel on all day and they love them. I would love to see insoles made for my boots while I stand in the dirt all day teaching. We ordered trophy pads for our Trophy Saddle Gymkhana and they were a huge hit. Even the old stuck in the mud cowboys who have grown up with Navajo Blankets admitted they worked pretty good. I have seen retired barrel racers' horses that are now packing their kids stop bucking on the way home because of your pads. Keep up the good work! Thank you we love your pads! — Wendy Parker

I started using the CSI pad at the beginning of the year in 2007; I had heard great things about them but could not find one. We saw one at one of the horse fairs and they told us where the booth was. As it turned out a friend of ours Ken Harrup was involved with selling them and we didn’t even know it. I put it on my 3 good horses and could just feel the difference in their movement. They were more relaxed and could still feel me as well. It is the only pad that I use now and I own 4 of them. I have three geldings that I run and I use ½ inch on one, ¾ on another, and the inch one the last one. I feel that they really do cut down on the wear and tear on their back. — Julie Erkamaa, WPRA Rookie of the Year
